Can I turn it off?
Yes. Academic runs in every Google Doc you open. Exclude or include any document at any time, from the extension menu in the document.
Does Academic use AI?
No. Nothing you write is sent to an AI model or used to train one. Nobody sees it unless you share it. Academic is not an AI detector or a humanizer.
